To all Members:
As you all know the Company has
indicated there is to be a layoff of up to 15 Employees. This is to take
place by June 30th. The Company has now indicated that there will
be an additional layoff of up to an approximately 20 more Employees possibly
within the next 12-18 months.
This will be due to the advent of an
Automated
Production Control Room system, Master Control being “spoked” out to
a main facility out West and the likelihood of Graphics being hubbed out.
The Company has repeatedly indicated that the Station(s) operation(s) will
be changing dramatically within the next year or so.
The Company will be distributing a new
enhanced buyout offer that should be considered by all those eligible.
The Negotiating Committee is working
very hard to continue to negotiate for a Contract that will carry us into
and through this very unsure and daunting future.
